Bulkcarrier released
On May 15, the "Alex A" was allowed to continue the voyage from Damietta to Noukchott after the master deposited the guarantee of 100,000 Euros requested by the Maritime Captaincy to respond to the file opened for having anchored in a prohibited place of the Bay of Ceuta. The ship was held since May 18 at noon, after having broken one of the two fiber optic cables with which Telefónica offers service from the Spanish mainland to the autonomous city Ceuta. Bulkcarrier still detained due to closed banks
The Maritime Captaincy hoped that the "Alex A" that has been held in waters of the Bay of Ceuta since May 11 at noon, after having broken one of the two fiber optic cables with which Telefónica offers service to Ceuta, may continue the trip to Mauritania on May 15. There was a guarantee requested by the Maritime Captaincy of 100,000 Euros for the ship having anchored in a prohibited place in the bay, as established in nautical charts. Because the banks were closed during the weekend it has not been possible to make the deposit of the guarantee requested by the Spanish authorities.
