Sv Georgi detained in Istanbul for fuel debts worth $200,000
Another 22 Bulgarian sailors have been detained in Turkey. This is the second arrested ship with a Bulgarian crew owned by businessman Doichi Doichev. This time his ship is held in Istanbul for fuel debts worth 200,000 USD, The Standart learnt. The ship’s name is Sv. Georgi and it has been renamed recently. Previously it has been sailing under the names Varna and Varna 5. The vessel is managed by Doichev’s company Seaborne Trade as well as the ship recently detained off the Spanish coast with 3 t of cocaine on board. The crew of Sv.Georgi also numbers 21 sailors and captain. It will be set free after the debt is fully paid. This is a regular practice complying with the international navigation laws.
