Grounding on Volgo-Baltic Waterway

The 'Gennadiy Abramov', en route from Cherepovets to St.Petersburg, with 10 crew members and a cargo of 3,000 tonnes of pig iron on board, in the waters of the Sheksna reservoir, in the vicinity of pos. 59 40 47 N 038 26 06 E, on the Volga-Baltic Waterway on Aug 5, 2023. The vessel was not damaged, and there were no casualties. The vessel was refloated with the assistance of the Russian-flagged tug 'Andriy Golubkov'. Following an inspection by the North-Western Transport Prosecutor's Office, the vessel was allowed to continue its voyage to St.Petersburg.

Double allision on the Neva

On July 3, 2018, at 4.20 a.m. the 'Gennadiy Abramov' allided with a helicopter pad on the top of the passenger terminal in Downtown St. Petersburg on the Neva at kilometer mark 1384 near the English Embankment, while sailing downstream. The terminal was damaged, and also the ship suffered ripped off railings and a two meter long dent at starboard side. While moving further downstream, the ship allided with the left pier of Blagoveschenskiy Bridge, suffering a dented bulwark and portside bridge wing. The ship arrived at St. Petersburg and had come from Cherepovets with a cargo of steel. It finally berthed at Bol´shaya Neva.
