Allision at Tanjung Sekong anchorage

Mon Dec 16 11:43:48 CET 2024 Timsen

On Dec 13, 2024, the 'Gas Sofia' was in allision with the ferry KMP 'Trimas Fadhila' (IMO: 9821249)at the Tanjung Sekong anchorage. At 7.35 p.m. LT the Vessel Traffic Service Operator (VTSO) received a report from the anchored LPG Tanker and contacted the 'Trimas Fadhila' to confirm the incident, wich reported that the vessel had been drifting while waiting for docking clearance at pier 7 but was carried northward by the current, leading to the allision. The 'Trimas Fadhila' suffered damage to its starboard railing, and its anchor chain was released. At 7:40 p.m. the 'Gas Sofia' reported that an inspection was underway to assess potential damage. Meanwhile the 'Trimas Fadhila' was directed to dock temporarily to disembark the passengers before further actions could be taken. At 8.15 p.m. the 'Gas Sofia' reported that the bulbous bow had a dent of 5-10 centimeters and scratches approximately 10 meters long from the point of impact towards the aft section.
