Repairs of livestock carrier completed
Repairs of the 'Gamma Star' could not be carried out by the crew at Istanbul anchorage. The vessel shifted from anchorage area to a shipyard at Tuzla in order to carry out permanent repairs with shore based technical support. Permanent repairs have been completed by the shipyard as regarded by class surveyor's further recommendation. Sea trials and performance tests were conducted at Tuzla anchorage on Nov 26 under satisfaction of manufacturer engineers and class surveyors. A new set of trading certificates was issued by the classification society and the vessel was granted departure permission upon completion of formalities. The 'Gamma Star' sailed from Tuzla on Nov 28 and arrived and berthed at Batumi on Dec 1 at 7 a.m.
Technical failure off Istanbul Strait

Subsequently, the vessel was towed by the tug 'Mehmetcik' to the Istanbul anchorage and was safely secured under supervision of a pilot at 7 p.m. The strait passage permission was cancelled by the strait authority until completion of permanent repairs by the crew. On Nov 18 the ship remained stationary in pos. 40° 57.51' N 028° 54.79' E.
Grounding off Goole
The "Coronel" ran aground on the shore of the River Ouse on May 23, 2016, upon the arrival at Goole. The ship had on board a river pilot, and the ships usually swing with the tide well before the locks. The ship, however, did not slow down to let a vessel coming from the opposite side pass and then swing, but instead carried on and was caught by the stong tide. It has meanwhile left Goole again and was headed to Rotterdam, ETA May 26, 8 p.m. Photo: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=2464861
