285 kilos cocaine attached to hull
The Mexican law enforcement agencies were tipped off on a possible cocaine shipment on board of the "Cap Palliser" which was to dock at Lazaro Cardenas port. Upon arrival, thje vessel was searched, and six cases were found attached to underwater hull, containing in total 285 kilos of cocaine. An official announcement was made on Jan 3, 2018, four days after the ship had arrived at Lazaro Cardenas on Dec 30, 2017, and had left the same day, bound for Los Angeles, where she docked at the SSA Container Terminal on Jan 3. The cocaine was to be delivered to Long Beach. The crew, ship and ship’s operator have nothing to do with drug trafficking, the ship was used as transportation means to contraband cocaine.
