No bedbugs found during investigation
Viking Line can breathe a sigh of relief, as no bedbugs have been found on the 'Gabriella'. Three technicians and a dog have been on board the ferry and conducted an investigation. It showed that there were no bedbugs on board. Last week a passenger had reported bedbugs on the ship, and Viking Line closed three cabins to investigate them. A company specializing in pest control has gone on board with lice dogs but has not found anything. The passenger had sent a picture of the lice, but according to the specialist company, the animal in the picture does not look like bedbugs. The cabins that have been investigated could not be booked for the time of the investigation.
Ferry suffered technical issue in Helsinki
On the morning of Jan 21, 2025. the 'Gabriella' suffered a technical failure in Helsinki and remained sidelined for repairs. As a consequence, the scheduled sailings from Helsinki to Tallinn at 103. a.m,. and from Tallinn to Helsinki at 5 p.m. had to be cancelled, Ther operator Viking Line contacted all affected customers.
Passenger was diagnosed with measles

Due to the very contagious nature of the disease, all passengers must be careful. It can be particularly dangerous to people without immunity, such as those who have not been vaccinated. The infectious disease epidemiology department of the Health Board was clarifying the circumstances of the case. The agency was communicating with its Finnish counterpart to obtain additional information. The ship left Tallinn at 2 p.m., and people on this trip should first check whether they have been vaccinated against measles or have previously contracted the disease. Then people can be more confident that they are protected against measles. Those without immunity should monitor their health in the coming weeks. The interior of the ship is usually well ventilated, but still crowded, and the virus spreads in the air.
