Fishing vessel disabled off Hoylake
An RNLI lifeboat came to the rescue of the "Tjeerd Jacoba" which was stranded nearly 40 miles off the Hoylake coast after the engine failed on June 30, 2016. The crew requested help from HM Coastguard, which asked RNLI volunteers at Hoylake lifeboat station to make their way to the ship. The "Edmund Hawthorn Micklewood" reached the vessel quickly and was able to tow it towards Liverpool. Once the ship had been towed north of Liverpool, another nearby fishing vessel took up the tow towards Cumbria.
