Damaged trawler towed to Douarnenez
The 'Rachel Jay' was prepared to be towed to a repair yard in Douarnenez on Jan 11, 2020. On Jan 12 at 9 p.m. the 'TSM Penzer' of the company Iroise Mer, towed the trawler out of the fifth basin of the port of Brest, and it arrived at its destination on Jan 13 at 2 a.m.. The fishing vessel had suffered a propulsion failure in the Bay of Biscay on Dec 23 and was salvaged by the 'TSM Penzer' off Penmarch. The repairs of the damage will be carried out on the slipway. Engine failure off Penmarch
In the night of Dec 23, 2019, the 'Rachel Jay' suffered an engine failure 130 nautical miles southwest of Penmarch and requested assistance. The multi purpose ship 'TSM Penzer' was deployed from the port of Brest and took the vessel in tow and pulled it into port on Dec 24 at 5:40 p.m. The trawler was moored alongside the 'TSM Dora' in the 5th basin.
