Medevac off Lizard Point
The Lizard RNLI lifeboat was launched on Mar 17, 2016, to go to the assistance of a fisherman of 50 years who had suffered a serious hand injury on board the "Nausicaa - SB 878368" 20 miles southeast of Lizard Point. The Lizard lifeboat was launched at 9.45 p.m. with a volunteer crew of seven and located the trawler 16 miles southeast of Lizard Point where the injured crewman was transferred onto the lifeboat. The lifeboat crew then dressed the casualty’s hand as they proceeded to Falmouth to rendezvous with a waiting ambulance. The weather and sea conditions made this a straight forward incident for us to deal with. The Lizard lifeboat returned to station on Mar 18 at 1:10 a.m. Report with video: http://rnli.org/NewsCentre/Pages/The-Lizard-RNLI-lifeboat-launches-to-evacuate-an-injured-crewman-from-a-trawler.aspx
