Medevac off Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue

Wed Jan 30 10:19:53 CET 2019 Timsen

On Jan 29, 2019 at 10.55 a.m. the CROSS Jobourg was alerted after a crew member of the "Jean Renet" was injured in the eye. The ship was 12 nautical miles southeast of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue. The CROSS immediately communicated with the Toulouse Medical Medical Center and the Maritime Medical Coordination SAMU in Le Havre who recommmended the medical evacuation of the fisherman as soon as possible. The CROSS deplyoed a Cayman helicopter of the Navy Base in Maupertus, and the victom was hoisted on board and dropped off at Caen-Carpiquet airport where he was taken care of at noon by the departmental fire and rescue service and taken to the University Hospital of Caen. Disabled trawler towed to Val-de-Saire

Wed Nov 11 10:29:02 CET 2015 Timsen

On Nov 9, 2015, at 2 p.m. the "Jean Renet" requested assistance after the propeller was blocked by a chain locker 25 miles east of the port of Saint-Vaast so that the ship subsequently lost propulsion. The "Nounoute" took the trawler in tow to the port of Val-de-Saire. At 8.30 p.m. the local SNSM-lifeboat "Président Jules-Pinteaux" took over the trawler to help it enter the harbour and docked it safely.
