Freighter withstood attack on Tripoli
The Libyan National Army (LNA), under General Khalifa Haftar, has targeted the port of Tripoli on Feb 18, 2020. Photos, videos and sources from the port of Tripoli indicated that only one in three warehouses at the edge of the port have been hit. Dense black smoke became visible over a long distance. The rockets had likely hit the cargo of the 'Ayla' which was being unloaded at the dock, while the ship itself remained intact. Three cargo ships flying the flag of the Cook Islands, Curacao and Palau have not been damaged. In addition there was another Turkish ship, the tug "Balaban". Following the attack, the offices of the NOC and Eni consortium, located next to the site, were evacuated. Ships were ordered out of the port.
