Funny Girl sailing again
The "Funny Girl" berthed in the America Port of Cuxhhaven on Aug 27 at 2 p.m. after diver surveys in Helgoland were completed. The damages caused by the collision were repaired at the Mützelfeld Yard. The port side stern of the "Funny Girl" had suffered damage when hitting the bulwark of the "Helgoland". None of the 129 passengers of the "Helgoland" and the 166 persons on board the "Funny Girl" were hurt. On Aug 28 the ship departed after the ship was cleared for passenger traffic again and reached Buesum at 5 a.m. and resumed its scheduled sailing to Helgoland at 9.30 a.m. with the first arrival there short past 12 p.m. that day.
Funny Girl entered port
The "Funny Girl" refloated with the rising tide on Aug 26 around 7 p.m. and entered the South Port of Helgoland for surveys. The small boat "Christian" of the lifeboat "Hermann Rudolf Meyer" supported the operation. The port side of the ferry was damaged in the collision with the "Helgoland". None of the 166 passengers were hurt. On Aug 27 at 11.40 a.m. the ship was underway to Cuxhaven. Funny Girl aground off Helgoland
On Aug 26, 2011, the "Funny Girl" ran aground off the North beach of Helgoland. The ship got stuck on the Seal Cliff. The passengers were evacuated onto the island after the grounding.
