No fireworks in Eschebrygga
The "Frigg" on Dec 31, 2011, finally was anchored off Eschebrygga. The fire department now prohibited any launch of the fireworks from the pier. The tanker had suffered an engine breakdwon late in the night at 3 a.m. in a storm with six meters high waves 20 miles southwest off Lista. Within two hours the ships were on scene and the tow line was attached within one more hour, during which the weather got even worse. With the help of the lifebaot "Peter Henry von Koss" and a tug from Farsund the ship was moored in the Flekkefjord with a speed of 3 knots, and at 00.40 a.m. the situation was under control. Disabled in storm, Norway
At 0300 LT Dec 30 Norway rescue boat Peter Henry von Koss was dispatched to render assistance to disabled tanker Frigg 16-17 nautical mil southwest of Lista. Weather was storme, with sea up to 6 meters, so it was quite a job for rescuers to deliver a towline to tanker. Tanker was successfully towed to Flekkefjord same day.
