10 crew members tested positive for COVID 19

10 crew members of the 'Frederic Chopin', which berthed in Potsdam on Oct 30, 2020, have been tested positive for the new Corona virus. The health authority ordered them to be quarantined until Nov 10 aobard the vessel. All of them did not show symptoms. On Oct 31 the health authority had been informed about one positive testing of a crew member. 18 more were tested negative and allowed to disembark on Nov 1 as well as teh 26 passengers who were regarded as 2nd degree contacts. The relevant health authorites have been informed accordingly.

Medevac off Schaprode

On Aug 10, 2016, the lifeboat "Nausikaa" of the DGzRS station Vitte was called to a medical emergency aboard the "Frederic Chopin". The MRCC raised alert at 5 p.m. after the woman had fallen down a stair and suffered severe shoulder and neck injuries. The lifeboat headed to the river cruise ship which was 3,5 miles SW of Schaprode with a medical team on board and went alongside in winds of 5-6 Beaufort. The victim was stabilized before she was transferred onto the lifeboat on a stretcher and taken to a waiting ambulance in Schaprode.
