On Nov 24 around 11 pm. a gantry crane collapsed onto the deck of the "Fortune Navigator" in the Ta Thuan port in Ho Chi Minh City during cargo operations. The number of injured was unknown, however, several ambulances entered the port. Some port workers were trapped underneath the debris after the crane arm suddenly snapped, and inside the cargo hold. Soldiers were called with welding equipment to free them, joined by rescue forces and police. Rescue work was going until 4 a.m. in the morning of Nov 25.
