Main engine trouble in Montreal
The "Fortunagracht" was disabled due to a main engine problem, at section 72 of the port of Montreal, Quebec, on Sep 10, 2019. The crew carried out repairs and left the port on Sep 11 at 3.20 a.m. bound to Alexandria with an ETA as of Sep 29.
Cleveland port marks Dutch freighter's long-awaited arrival
Residents and visitors to Cleveland are being offered an opportunity to view the lead ship in the parade of ships known as the Cleveland-Europe Express. The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reports (http://bit.ly/1hWQGXP ) the Fortunagracht was to sail into Cleveland on Saturday and be open for viewing until 5 p.m. through the port's West Ninth Street gate. Visitors are being allowed to walk down the ramp for a better view of the ship as it unloads. The 12,500-ton containerized Dutch freighter led the seasonal opening of the Saint Lawrence Seaway that began a little more than two weeks ago. Its arrival in Cleveland was delayed by ice. Cleveland marks the end of a 4,000-mile sail from Antwerp, Belgium, passing through the Welland Canal from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie.
Allision in Brunsbüttel
On Jan 4, 2014, the "Fortunagracht" enroute from Haifa to Sundsvall allided with the lock wall in Brunsbüttel while entering the Kiel Canal on Jan 4, 2014, at 7.40 a.m. The ship suffered a dent and scratches on a length of 10 meters on port side, the lock itself was not damaged.
