Ferry involved in rescue of six
The "Midoy" was involved in the rescue of six persons aboard a grounded cabin cruiser in the evening of Dec 2, 2011. Two were transported to the doctor, the other went to Christmas parties later. Police was notified of the accident at 6.48 p.m. after the 33-foot-long cabin cruiser had run onto an islet between Finnøya and Sæterøy in Sandøy. Two of the six were transported by the ambulance boat "Øyvon" to the doctor on Småge. The rescue operation involvbed an ambulance, the car ferry "Midøy" and a Sea King helicopter sent by the Rescue Coordination Centre for southern Norway.
