FOB TRIM
In the midday hours of on Apr 27, 2010, the "Fob Trim" suffered water ingress while its crew of two was working on a wind plant off Egmond aan Zee. The 2 men were completely surprised by the flooing. At 1.50 p.m. they sent distress calls to the Rescue Center Den Helder. Another supplier, the British "Windcat 17", evacuated the crew of the vessel which was severely listing to starboard. The rescue boats from IJmuiden, Egmond and Wijk aan Zee were sent to the scene as well as a Coast Guard plane. The KNRM-boats were equipped with additional deatering pumps which were able to cope the flooding. The compartments were dewatered one after another, and the ship came to rest on even keel again. The captain and his engineer then re-boarded the "Fob Trim", and escorted by the KNRM-boat "Koos van Messel" they headed for IJmuiden where the ship was berthed around 4.30 p.m.
