Ferry damaged by obstruction in foil
The Port Authority of Aegina was informed in the morning of June 20, 2022, by the Captain of the 'Flying Dolphin XVII', that the ship suffered damage while operating the scheduled route Piraeus - Aegina, by an obstruction in the starboard side foil. The ship sailed unassisted to the port of Aegina, where 108 passengers disembarked safely. The passengers bound for the port of Piraeus were forwarded to their destination with the care of the ship-owning company. The Aegina Port Authority initially prohibited the departure of the vessel. After the presentation of a certificate of seaworthiness by the classification society that monitors it, it was allowed an individual voyage to the port of Perama to repair the damage.
Obstruction got caught in foil
The Argosaronikos Port Authority was informed in the evening of June 3, 2022, by the Captain of the 'Flying Dolphin XVII'; that while serving the route Porto Heli - Spetses - Ermioni with a final destination in Piraeus, an obstruction got entangled in one of the foils. The ferry sailed to the port of Piraeus with conventional propulsion and safely disembarked its 25 passengers. The port authority issued a sailing ban until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a class maintenance certificate by the classification society that monitors it.
Engine trouble off Piraeus
The Central Port Authority of Piraeus was informed on April 5, 2022, at noon by the Master of the "Flying Dolhin XVII" Nabpit a malfunction in the port side main engine en route from the port of Piraeus to the port of Aegina. The vessel returned to Piraeus and safely disembarked its 19 passengers, who were forwarded to their destination with the care of the ship-owning company. The Port Authority banned the ship from sailing until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of class maintenance by the classification society that monitors it.
