Bunker tanker broke lose and suffered slight damage

Mon Oct 29 17:07:56 CET 2018 Timsen

The "Flandriya" was bunkering the container ship "CMA CGM Louga" at the port of St.Petersburg, when manoeuvres to berth the container ship "Lisbon Express" to a neighbouring berth, resulted in the breaking of the mooring lines of the "Flandriya" on Oct 26, 2018. The "Flandriya" was able to manoeuvre to allow the crew to make the lines fast again. Following an inspection of the chemical tanker's side, two dents with a diameter of 30 centimetres with a deflection of about three centimetres were found. The tanker berthed at the Kanonerskiy Ship Repair Yard on Oct 29 for repairs.

FLANDRIYA sank a fisherboat - 2 missing

Mon May 23 22:17:12 CEST 2011 Timsen

On May 22, 2011, at 5.30 a.m. the "Flandriya" informed Traffic Control on Channel 9 VHF there was a fishing boat hindering traffic in Sea Channel S-Petersburg area at Neva Gate. The fishermen were busy placing nets. The vessel warned the boat by a whistle and tried to avoid a allision, but this was to no avail due to strong river current. The boat was sucked under the starboard bow bilge, the tanker had to proceed on with moving because it was impossible to stop in the area. There were 3 persons on fishing boat, one was rescued by nearby another fishing boat of the same owner, two went missing, a search was under way. Later the rescued fisherman said the propeller of their boat was entangled in the net and they couldn’t move out of the tanker’s way. The "Flandriya" proceeded to St. Petersburg and berthed at Barochnyy Mar 23. odin.tc
