Finntide back to Finland after lengthening
On Nov 23, 2017, the "Finntide" left the Remontowa Yard in Gdansk after having been lengthened by 30 meters by Finnlines Pic as parrt of its 70 million Euro energy efficiency and emission reduction initiative. The ship was lengthened to boost fuel efficiency and will considerably reduce the energy consumption per transported units. Lengthened FINNTIDE ready to be handed back to Finnlines
The 30m lengthening of FINNTIDE has been successfully completed by Gdansk-based Remontowa Group and the near to 4,200-lanemetre freight ro-ro is now ready to be handed back to Finnlines.
Body of missing crew member found
At the entrance of the Kallo lock in Atnwerp a body was found on Aug 27, 2014. It was more than likely that it was a crew member of the "Finntide", a Philippinie electrician, who fell over board in the afternoon of Aug 25 when the vessel was preparing to sail out of the lock.
