Repair in Vigerö

The "Ficaria Seaways", which normally operates on the route between Gothenburg and Immingham, has suffered severe propeller damage in the accident in Gothenburg on Nov 27. On Dec4 the "Fiscaria Seaways" was towed to Fayard at Vigerö for drydocking. Meanwhile the ship was replaced by the "Hafnia Seaways" on its route between Gothenburg and Immingham. The "Hafnia Seaways" normally is on the Cuxhaven-Immingham run, where she was replaced by the "Ark Futura".

Stern and bow damage in storm

Afer the "Ficaria Seaways" broke lose on Nov 27, the stern began to swing away from the quay. Witnesses quickly alerted the Coast Guard, and soon several tugboats fought to gain control of the situation in the storm. It soon became clear that it was impossible to drag the ship back to Älvsborgs Port, so it was planned to moor it at Skandia port instead. But then the vessel got stuck ath the New Älvsborgs Fortress with the stern. The propeller and rudder were damaged. In addition, the bow had allided with the quay. Once the ship was moored again, it was found out that the ship had a propeller shaft damage, and was to be sent back to Denmark for repairs. Ferry adrift in Gothenburg

On Nov 27, 2011, around 8 p.m. the "Ficaria Seaways" broke lose from its moorings at the Älvsborgs port in Gothenburg in storm gusts and drifted towards Långedrag. Two tus struggled to get the ferry back to the quay around 9 p.m.
