Docker severely injured in work accident
A 53-year old worker fell four meters deep from a ladder aboard the "Zwaantje" at the Kellogs Quay in Bremen on Nov 3, 2016, at 7.20 a.m. He was involved in unloading operations at that time. The cargo hold was opened at 6 a.m., and the worker was about to climb down the ladder which suddenly started to move, so that he fell four meters deep and suffered severe head and internal injuries. He was treated on site by rescue teams before being lifted out of the cargo hold by the fire rescue with a mobile crane.
Collision on the Hunte
On Feb 3 the unloaded "Freiheit 1" was in collision with the Dutch "Zwaantje" enroute Oldenburg to the Coast Canal on the Hunte. The "Zwaantje" was approaching from the opposite direction, and as the Polish "Martini" cut off the curve there was no space left, and the anchor of the "Freiheit 1" got stuck in the bow of the "Zwaantje". The damage was some 10000 Euro. The "Zwaantje" sailed to Riesebeck where the ship remained since.
