Collision off Hordvikneset
On Sep 2, 2014, around 11 a.m. the "Falksund" was in collision with the 15-meter-skate TSMY "Weller" between Hordvikneset and Knarvik in the Oster Fjord. There were six and four people on board the ships. The two passengers fell when the collision occurred following a failed full astern manoever, but no one was injured. The master contacted Rogaland radio. The Coast Guard ship "Olaf" was nearby and heard the Mayday call. The ship would probably have gone down if their bilge pumps would not have been available within five minutes to pump out the water. The vessel took a large amount of water through the bow. The lifeboat "Kristian Gerhard Jebsen" was called to assist with additional pump equipment if necessary. They arrived 25 minutes after the report from Rogaland radio. The lifeboat "Kristian Gerhard Jebsen" attended and escorted the "Weller" to Hjelmås. The Canadian tourists who had been on board the "Weller" were taken care of and transported back to Steinestø Quay aboard the lifeboat "Melibra" from Lindas and the Meland fire boat. The "Weller" was able to proceed to the Hjelmås Mecanical Verkstad AS, where the ship was pulled onto a slip The ship was underway from Steinestø to the Hagel Sound when the "Falksund" approached from the south enroute to Eikefet. Man fell into cargo hold
A man fell 2.5 meters deep into a cargo hold while working on the "Falk Sund". Police, fire and health personnel were dispatched to the Sotra bridge in Hordaland after they were notified of an accident at 11.36 a.m. on Mar 19, 2013. He was taken to Haukeland for treatment after the accident.The injured is Swedish and in the 50s. The ship was on its way to Bergen with a cargo of sand, but was now docked at Sotra. Falksund adrift off Kopervik
On Nov 25, 2011, at 8.18 p.m. 20.18 the Rescue Coordination Centre at Sola was notified that the "Falksund" had encountered engine trouble in the Karm Sound, just north of Kopervik. A lifeboat, a pilot boat and the coast guard vessel "Bergen" were sent to assist the ship. When the pilot boat reached the ship is was in danger of drifting onto the shore, but short before 9 p.m. the situation was brought under control and the "Falksund" taken in tow to Kopervik.
