Grounding off Wangerooge

Sat May 27 23:14:49 CEST 2017 Timsen

The "Eems Delfia", being loaded with construction material, ran aground off the port of Wangerooge in the morning of May 27, 2017. Around 4 p.m. tugs were able to refloat the vessel which was ordered into the port of Wangerooge for inspections. The water police in Wilhelmshaven launched an investigation. Obviously a combination of currents, wind and fog contributed to the accident. The ship left the port again on May 28 at 1.15 p.m., next being bound to Hausvik, ETA May 30.
