Cargo ship released after sailors got full pay
On Monday the seven-man crew on Lavinia got an extra salary transfer, then the freighter could set course for Nørresundby. Maritime Authority "unfreezed" the ship, after the company had arrears of wages, and the ship thus live up to the international rules on minimum wage. The ship with Russian and Lithuanian workers was detained by the DMA Saturday after an inspector of the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) had been on unannounced visits to check on the Agreement on the Swedish-owned ship was respected.
