Grounding on the Danube
The "Euroshipping 1", 1134,6 ts (EU-No.: 04030640), ran aground near Irlbach in the Straubing-Bogen community on the Danube in the evening of Sep 27, 2018, jointly with the pushed barge "Panta Rhei 2“, 1340 ts (EU-No.: 04802640). They were coming from Linz and bound to Regensburg with a cargo of 980 tons sand. The grounding was caused by a low water level on the river. The ships got stuck outside the fairway on a gravel bar at the left river shore, and passing traffic was not hampered actually. The river authority Regensburg assessed the situation after daybreak in the morning of Sep 27. After lightering was completed, the ship was refloated on Oct 2 and towed into the West Port of Regensburg.
