Medevac off Puerto Deseado

Rescuers from the Argentine Naval Prefecture carried out a medevac from the 'Estrella 5' in the Argentine sea after a crew member osuffered kidney disease when the ship was fishing off Puerto Deseado. The 67-year-old engineer suffered from severe abdominal pain and fever. The captain of the vessel conducted a radio consultation with a doctor from the Prefecture, and due to the seriousness of the sickness, the naval force decided to carry out a medevac with a P A 43 helicopter from the Comodoro Rivadavia Air Station, along with an aircraft to support the operation. Once the helicopter was positioned over the fishing boat, a sanitary basket was dropped off to hoist the patient to the helicopter. Once aboard, he received first aid while he was transferred to Puerto Deseado where he was hospitalized. He was stable and remained hospitalized for observation.
