E Ship 1 assisted in rescue of migrants

Wed Aug 31 10:51:29 CEST 2022 Timsen

The 'E Ship 1', en route from Aliaga to Antwerp, which was sailing 12 miles west of Tarifa, informed the Tarifa Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (CCS) on Aug 30, 2022, of the presence of a boat with migrants. Salvamento Marítimo deployed the 'Salvamar Arcturus' which rescued 29 migrants of North African origin, including a woman and two minors, when they tried to reach the shores of Campo de Gibraltar aboard a motorized inflatable boat. They have been transferred in good health to the marina of El Saladillo in Algeciras.

Bolivian Corani waiting for 24-MW wind turbine delivery in Chile

Tue Oct 13 07:23:18 CEST 2015 arnekiel

October 12 (SeeNews) - Bolivian state-run power company Empresa Electrica Corani expects the delivery of wind turbines to the Chilean port of Arica this week for the expansion of its Qollpana wind farm by 24 MW. In a press release on Saturday, the company said that the E-Ship 1 vessel of German Enercon GmbH will deliver all eight wind turbines with 24 blades of 39 m (128 ft) each to the port on Tuesday. Electrica Corani already has two 1.5-MW turbines operating at the wind farm, located in the Pocona municipality, central Bolivia. In December 2014, the company contracted Spanish engineering group TSK for the expansion which is expected to generate 91 GWh a year, according to state officials. The Qollpana area has an estimated potential for 50 MW of wind power.

Repairs of rotor ship completed after one year

Wed Feb 19 11:04:19 CET 2014 Timsen

After lengthy repairs the "E-Ship 1" left the port of Emden again on Feb 16 bound for Cherbourg as first port of call with an ETA of Feb 19, 10 a.m. Enercon had taken the ship out of service about one year ago after the ship repeatedly had encountered trouble with the diesel generators which were supposed to serve the main engine and the rotors as well as providing electricity on board. All seven generators have been exchanged at the Emder Dockyard EWD, and the whole technical systems were made more efficient. On Feb 11 the ship left the yard for final works at the North Quay in Emden. Enercon will cooperate with the ship operator Auerbach in Hamburg in the future. During the forthcoming sailings the propulsion system will be validated by Enercon and a performance-monitoring be carried out from shore.
