Fire off Cabo Sao Vincente

The 'ES Care' suffered a fire onboard while proceeding south in the Sao Vincente Traffic Separation Scheme approximately 60 nautical miles west of Cabo Sao Vincente in the morning of Aug 3, 2021. The fire could be extinguished by the ship's crew, and there was no pollution. The Portuguese maritime safety authorities have commenced collecting evidence of the incident from their Panamanian counterpart maritime safety investigation office.

One deas after work boat capsized during assistance work

A port’s work boat assisting in the mooring of the "Swiftnes" at Tomakomai port, Hokkaido, capsized and sank after being dragged by a mooring rope, which got entangled in the bulkcarrier's propeller, in the morning of Jan 30, 2017. One of the two crew members died, the other one was rescued. After the "Swiftnes" docked at Tomakomai, an investigation into the accident was launched.
