Rudder damage off Fiskardo

Sat Jul 24 14:12:05 CEST 2021 Timsen

The Port Authority of Lefkada was informed on July 23, 2021, about damage to the rudder of the 'Eptanisos' with seven crew members and 330 passengers on board one nautical mile north of Fiskardo, Cephalonia. Three patrol boats went directly to the area, and the 'Macedonia Palace' diverted to the scene and took the ship in tow. The disabled ferry was pulled to the port of Nydri, Lefkada. The Lefkada Port Authority, which was conducting the preliminary investigation, banned the ship from sailing until the damage has been repaired and a certificate of seaworthiness presented.
