Tanker seized in Zuwarah
The "Haci Telli" with 11 crew members on board was seized in Zuwarah, northwest Libya due to a commercial dispute. The vessel was detained because only part of the loaded oil product was paid bythe charterer. Turkey on Mar 1, 2017, already slated the seizure as an act of piracy. According to a Turkish agency, the man who chartered the ship and his Libyan partner did not repay $ 433,000, which was the price of the oil the tanker was carrying at that time. The crew was detained until the sum has been paid. The businessman had already paid $ 280,000 in debts, which did not contribute to the release of the crew.
