Freighters collide on Rhine near Trechtingshausen
Two cargo ships were badly damaged in a collision that occurred on Friday evening at Trechtingshausen on the Rhine, notif the Water and Shipping Authority of Bingen. The two ships met at 21.15 clock in the Rhine 537 km below the castle Sooneck. Local residents report that the cargo vessel was loaded with sand, "Peter Hagen" on the way down the valley, as the Rhine-propelled tanker "LRG 26" was floating toward the driving route of the cargo ship. Despite the signals it came to a collision, the loud bang was heard in the area Trechtingshausen.
