Boat which was sunk by Emerald raised and total loss
The motor yacht "De Broerling" from Tilburg was salvaged at Dinteloord on May 18. The ship had been sunk by the "Emerald" on May 17 at the Krammer lock. Salvage BST Dinteloord located the wreck with sonar about sixty metres from the site of the accident. The salvage vessel "Furie 3" of BST pulled the wreck to the surface. Around 9.30 p.m. the boat was towed to Dinteloord. Due to severe damage it was considered to be a total loss. Barge sank motoryacht - 2 saved
A pleasure boat was in collision with the "Emerald" in South Vlije on May 17, 2012. The two boaters from Tilburg were saved by the lifeboat "Hellegat" and brought to Dirksland. The accident happend at 12.30 p.m. on the Volkerak six km east of the Krammers Lock where the 10.50 m long motor yacht was hit into the stern by the "Emerald" and sunk in the fairway. Central Traffic Wemeldinge alerted the Coastguard which sent the Hellegat lifeboat and an offshore rescue helicopter. The Water Police of the National Police Agency was investigating the cause of the accident. The shipping was not affected by the wreck.
