Guard ship rescued jet ski driver
On Apr 21, 2018, the "Emanuel" saved a jet ski driver who had drifted 20 hours in the Baltic Sea after the engine failed. The man had started in Mukran on Apr 20 at 5.40 p.m. Off the shore the engine failed, and without communication means he was unable to raise alert and drifted further out to sea in four Beaufort wind. The following day around midday he was oberserved by the crew of the guard ship four miles East of Thiessow. They pulled him aboard and cared or him. At 5.40 p.m. he was transferred onto the lifeboat "Harro Koebke“ of the DGzRS-station Sassnitz and taken back to the beach from where he had started and where his two dogs were waiting in his car.
