Ship disabled after engine room fire

The 'EM Oinousses', being en route from Maputo to Mombasa with 25 crew members on booard, suffered a fire in the engine room in the afternoon of Jan 19, 2020, in positon 14 33 12 S 41 00 48 E abeam of Nacala in the Mozambique Channel. The ship went adrift, after the engine room was sealed and the fire supprerssion system activated. Two tugs from Nacala, the Bahamas flagged 'RT Magic' and 'RT Spirit', were called to assist at 9 p.m. They rendezvoused with the container ship at a position about 50 miles off Nacala, Mozambique. Despite swells, the tugs quickly made up with the vessel. They towed her to the port of refuge.
