Fishing vessel damage in allision off Hornsea
The 'Elsie B' allided with the wind turbine A5 of the westernmost rough windfarm south of Hornsea in position 53 47 31 N 000 06 16 E and suffered damage to the bow and subsequently a water ingress on June 9, 2022, at 12.30 a.m. Two of the three crew members were injured and required minor first aid by the RNLI boat crew from Bridlington. The Bridlington’s ALB 'Anthony Patrick Jones' was launched at 2:30 a.m. in response to assist the Humber lifeboat after a call from the Coastguard. The crew was able to get the water ingress under control without any assistance. The Helicopter R912, which had been deployed to the scene, was stood down when the situation was stabilized. The supply vessel 'Island Condor' (IMO: 9695042) also assisted. The RNLI boat Bridlington dropped off two crew persons on board the 'Elsie B' and escorted the vessel back to Bridlington where it was safely berthed. The Bridlington lifeboat was back at its station at 6.32 a.m.
