EKATERINI P 9000443

Mon Sep 11 10:01:18 CEST 2023 Timsen

The anchors of the 'Fast Ferries Andros' (IMO: 8907280), the 'Ekaterini P.' and the 'Super Ferry' (IMO: 9110016) got entangled during the departure of the ferries from Rafina on Sep 9, 2023. A collision was avoided between all involved vessels at the last minute. The incident occurred due to bad weather conditions prevailing in the area. The 'Super Ferry' lost its port anchor, and the Master of the vessel informed the Port Authority of Tinos, which initially prohibited the sailing of the ferry until a class maintenance certificate permitting its continued sailing was issued by the ship's surveyor. Following the presentation of the certificate, the vessel was allowed to depart Tinos on its scheduled service.
