Grounding off Florø
On Aug 29, 2017, at 2.30 p.m. the "Eikefjord", having sailed from Egersund on Aug 27, ran aground in Gunhildvågen, Auseholet. A tug pulled the ship off and towed it to Florø at 3.30 p.m. The crew of six was not harmed in the incident. She left the port again on Sep 3 at 5.15 p.m., being bound to Myre, ETA Sep 8.
Master asleep - cargo ship on rocks
On May 16, 2014, short before 1 p.m. the "Skansanes" crashed into rocks at the shore of the Storfjord at Skotungneset in Sunnmøre after having a near miss of the fish farms in Fausa. The sand carrier soon refloated and proceeded to Valldal where police went on board and interrpgated the captain. They believed the man had fallen asleep at the helm. There was no suspicion that he was drunk. The Norwegian Maritime Directorate was informed. Grounding south of Maloy
The "Hav Sund" ran aground south of Maloy on Nov 16, 2012, at 5 a.m. enroute Husoy-Myre. The ship got stuck west of Risøy being loaded with gravel and sand. It had a crew of five. The ship was able to refloat with own power and proceeded to Maloy by 7 p.m. for inspections. The crew was to be questioned by the county police there.
