Barge getting repaired in Magdeburg

The "Eider" was allowed to proceed from Tangermünde on Nov 2 at 10 a.m. and headed for Magdeburg where she docked at the Industrial Port at 3.30 p.m. where repairs of three holes which the ferry ramp had torn in the hull began. The ship already started to load a cargo of grain. The police was still investigating the cause of the accident.

Collision on the Elbe

In the evening of Nov 1, 2014, the "Eider" was in collisoin with the Sandau-ferry on the Elbe. The barge was underway unloaded from Hamburg to Magdeburg. When passing the ferry pt. at 7 p.m. it hit the ferry which had to suspend its service. The "Eider" was detained for investigations. She suffered dents at the port side bow. Travellers were routed to the ferry Werben - Räbel sand the B188 bridge near Tangermünde.
