Cargo ship breached in allision
In the morning of March 23, 2019, the "Egbert Wagenborg" ran into a quay in Ålesund and suffered a breach of four meters in a ballast tank at its starboard side foreship. It was expected that temporary repairs would be made and that the ship will leave Ålesund fairly quickly after they have received approval from their class company. There was damage to the quay too. On March 25 the ship remained stationary in port. An investigation into the accident was launched by the port captain. The ship left the port on March 27 at 1.30 p.m. It arrived at Delfzijl on March 30 and was drydocked at the Niestern Sander Drydock at 5.30 p.m. for permanent repairs of the damage. She sailed again on May 25 at 10.50 a.m. and headed to San Ciprian, ETA May 29. EasyMax nominated for KVNR Shipping Award
The latest vessel design of Wagenborg, the EasyMax has been nominated for the prestigious 'KVNR Shipping Award', which will be awarded in November 2017. As every year, the Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners awards the ‘Shipping Award’ to showcase the innovative maritime character of the Netherlands, where continuous innovations take place and that the environment, sustainability and social responsibility are high on the agenda. The EasyMax is an open-top multi-purpose ice-classed vessel with a load capacity of 14,300 tonnes and a hold capacity of 625,000 cubic feet. The combination of that large load capacity and very low fuel consumption makes this Wagenborg vessel a leader in its segment in terms of sustainability. Source: Wagenborg
