Ferry sidelined with engine trouble
The "Ebba Brahe" was taken out of the service between Gränna and Visingsö on June 13, 2019, at 11.50 a.n. due to technical problems which required repairs. The ferry was expected to be in traffic again at 3:15 p.m.
Ferry out of service for indefinite period
After the weekend's accident, the "Ebba Brahe" will be out of service for an indefinite period. In the evening of Aug 13, the shipping company and the Transport Agency conducted a dive survey which showed that the propeller of the ferry has got more damage than expedted. The "Christina Brahe" was to enter service in the morning of Aug 17 between Gränna and Visingsö. The "Ebba Brahe" had to be repaired in a drydock. On Aug 18 the lifeboat "Rescue Amalia Wallenberg" assisted the ferry out of Gränna due to its limited manoeverability. The ship was bound to the company's own drydock in Huskvarna. Allision in Gränna
The powerful winds at Vättern caused the allision of the "Ebba Brahe" with the pier upon the arrival from Visingö at Gränna on Aug 10, 2018, at 6 p.m. No person was injured, but the ferry was taken out of service to undergo an inspection. The accident meant that the ferry service between Gränna and Visingsö will be slightly reduced during the weekend.
