Thu Feb 04 11:06:08 CET 2021 Timsen

The former 'Sea Princess' of Princess Cruises has been renamed 'Charming' and was docked at the Yiu Lian Shekou Dockyards on Jan 28, 2021, for its service for the Foresee Cruises. The work is being carried out by the China Merchants Industry Holding Co. in Mazhou and was expected to be done in May.

Sea Princess is Charming now

Mon Nov 16 08:48:12 CET 2020 Timsen

China is preparing to launch its second domestic cruise operation with the newly acquired 'Sea Princess' of Carnival Corporation’s Princess Cruises. The handover was completed in Manila where the ship dropped anchor on Nov 13, 2020. The cruise ship sailed for Princess and briefly for P&O Cruises and had been operating mostly in Australia before being idled by the pandemic. In September, Princess Cruises announced that they were selling the ship along with her sister ship 'Sun Princess'. The Sea Princess' was taken over by Sanya International Cruise and will be renamed in 'Charming' while the 'Sun Princess' will be operated for the Japanese NGO Peace Boat starting in 2021 as the 'Pacific World'.

Medevac off Hamilton Island

Sun Feb 24 18:29:07 CET 2019 Timsen

A Brisbane woman suffering a serious brain bleed was flown to a Queensland Hospital from the "Sea Princess" about 138 kilometres north-east of Hamilton Island on Feb 23, 2019. An RACQ CQ Rescue flew more than 1200 kilometres over 10 hours to winch the 71-year-old woman, who was unconscious, from the ship and transferred her to Townsville Hospital in a critical condition. The cruise shop was returning to Brisbane with 1998 passengers on board during the 14-day voyage when the woman became ill.
