Ferry conversion to offshore accommodation begins
Hardinxveld-Giessendam, Netherlands-based Holland Shipyards reports that it has begun work on the first of two ships which have been purchased by Chevalier Floatels for conversion into staff accommodation and transport ships for offshore wind farm work. The ships, built at the Remontowa yard in Gdansk, Poland in 2007 and 2008 began life as the passenger ferries Siluna Ace and Simara Ace on the short crossing of the Öresund strait between Denmark and Sweden, but were rendered surplus to requirements after the fixed link gained popularity. - See more at: http://www.motorship.com/news101/shiprepair-and-conversion/ferry-conversion-to-offshore-accommodation-begins#sthash.xpAuy6fg.dpuf
