Cargo ship sank after collision
On Jan 25, 2016, around 2 p.m. the "Dong Thien Phu Silver" was in collision with the tanker "Ocean Osprey" off Myanmar The cargo ship sank, an an SAR operation was launched by the MRCC Myanmar. All 14 Vietnamese crew members were rescued with no injures reported. Both vessels were en route to Yangon, last ports of call of the "Dong Thien Phu Silver" were Ho Chi Minh City on Jan 11 and Kantang on Jan 18. The tanker suffered bow damage and was detained. Human error and bad weather was thought to have caused the accident.
