Perpetrators stole engine spares

The 'Dongbang Giant No. 6', en route from Kabil to Dampier, was boarded by two perpetrators on Kabil Anchorage in pos. 01° 6.9' 104° N 10.6' E on June 25, 2024, at 3 a.m. The intruders stole engine spare parts. No injuries were reported.

On June 25 2024, at 03.30. a.m. WIB, a theft incident occurred on the 'Dongbang Giant No. 6' in Kabil Waters, Riau. The ship sent a request for help after detecting two unknown ships approaching and two to three people boarding it. The Batam VTS immediately contacted the KN 'Tanjung Datu' which was patrolling near the position. At 05.00 WIB the patrol boat arrived on scene. The theft was carried out by two people who had managed to climb onto the ship and enter through the stern. The thieves took 44 engine spare parts from the engine room and injured one of the crew members at his hand. The perpetrators managed to escape via the stern using a lifeboat. Heavy lift vessel arrested in Singapore

The "Korex SPB No. 2" has been arrested in Singapore by the Supreme Court of Singapore. The vessel was detained following action taken by local law firm Resource Law LLC, with the arrest taking place on Jan 26, 2017 at 12:30 a.m. The circumstances leading to the arrest were currently unknown, but such action are in common in instances of payment dispute.
