Allision following steering trouble
The Port Authority of Salamina was informed in the morning of March 28, 2023, that the 'Dimitrios P' on a scheduled route from Perama Megaridos to the port of Faneromeni Salamina with 28 passengers and 16 vehicles on board, experienced a failure of the steering system and allided with the moored 'Kaptan Stavros', causing damage to both ships. The Central Port Authority of Piraeus, which was conducting the preliminary investigation, arrested the Master of the ferry, while the sailing of both ships was prohibited, until the presentation of a certificate of seaworthiness by the classifiers who monitor the vessels. No injuries were reported from the incident, and no marine pollution was observed.
Ferry suffered engine trouble
The 'Dimitrios P' suffered an engine failure during the execution of the scheduled route from the port of Perama to the port of Palukion in Salamina, with 52 passengers, on board. Two ships came to assist, and the ferry safely reached the port of Palukia and disembarked all its passengers and vehicles. The Central Port Authority of Piraeus, which was conducting the preliminary investigation, prohibited the sailing of the ship until the damage was repaired.
Allision in Perama
The Port Authority of Perama was informed in the morning of Aug 5, 2021, by the captain of the 'Dimitrios P' about an allision of the ship's catapult with the pier upon the arrival from Paloukia. Officials of the Port Authority went to the scene and found small material damage to the pier. The Central Port Authority of Piraeus banned the ship from sailing.
