Ferry slammed into pier
On Mar 27, 2015, the "Gloppen, coming from Ranavik at Stord, allided with the berth at Skjersholmane. The ship failed to slow down and crashed into the ferry trapdoor with fairly high speed. At 12:39 p.m. the route Holmane-Ranavik was closed. The allision with the pier damaged the port installations and the ferry. No passengers were injured. MOB fell over board
The "Gloppen", which was inserted as a reserve ferry for the "Melderskin" on the Fensfjord by Norled, had to suspend its service in the evening of Nov 12, 2014, due to technical problem. During an operation with the Man-overboard-Boat (MOB) the lifting hook opened, and the MOB fell onto the quay in Sløvåg. There were no persons on board the boat or in the vicinity, but the boat was damaged. An investigation was started into the incident. The ferry was expected back on the track on Nov 13.
