Distressed vessel reached deeper waters

Wed Dec 05 09:56:14 CET 2012 Timsen

The "BBC Adriatic" managed to change position in the night of Dec 5, odin.tc reports, and assumingly managed to move from the coastal shallows to deeper waters. As of morning Dec 5 it was anchored about two miles off coast, waiting for the weather to improve.

BBC Adriatic too weak to cope with storm force

Tue Dec 04 19:45:59 CET 2012 Timsen

The "BBC Adriatic" struggled for hours to keep off the coast of Kumkoy on Dec 4, 2012. The ship had moored the evening before and started to drift at 9 a.m. in waves of seven metres height after the anchor chains broke. The engine was unable to cope with the storm force. The Coast Guard, Civil Defence and the police attended. The unloaded ship which was pounded by the surf had a crew of 14 on board.
